Dr. Elizma van der Smit

I have been practicing clinical psychology for almost three decades, my extensive experience has been my greatest teacher. I am especially interested in working with relationships, anger and personal development. Working with anger, depression and anxiety disorders is also part of my greatest passions. I love helping, and it is imperative to me that a person who is hurting must get the right information, leading them on a healing path. I always set clear goals to determine our therapeutic path and often use cognitive therapy to attain these goals. My primary focus in therapy is to provide options, where a person might feel that there is no option available.

I hold master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Personal and Professional Leadership as well as a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
